Koenigsegg Super Cars


Koenigsegg Automotive AB is a Swedish manufacturer of Super Cars, based in Ängelholm. The company was founded in 1994 in Sweden by Christian von Koenigsegg, with the intention of producing a world-class Super Car. Many years of development and prototyping led to the company's first street-legal production car delivery in 2002. In 2006 Koenigsegg began production of the CCX, which uses an engine created in-house especially for that vehicle. The CCX is street-legal in most countries.

With a well established engineering industry, a long tradition of building high quality cars and a large number of specialist suppliers to the racing industry, Sweden offers the ideal breeding ground for the development of a world-class Super Car.The parameters for this Super Car are established quickly: a two-seater of mid-engined construction with a detachable and stow-able hardtop, all based on state-of-the-art "Formula One" technology. A network is developed, made up of skilled designers and engineers with connections both to the Swedish car industry and associated institutions.

Below is the first outline of the car. These drawings were made by Christian in 1994 the day he decided to start his life long venture. These drawings laid the foundation for all Koenigsegg cars - short overhangs, wrap around windscreen, large side air intakes, mid engine layout, and a detachable hard top. In 1995 development and production of the first prototype is initiated. Koenigsegg CC8S



The first Koenigsegg CC8S, is assembled and delivered to its proud owner at the Geneva Motor Show in March. This prototype is driven mercilessly by Koenigsegg test drivers on both racetracks and roads in order to further refine the car’s performance and handling. While the construction of the assembly line at Ängelholm is still incomplete, the team nonetheless manages to build five stunning cars during the year. In September, Koenigsegg is launched in Asia, with two cars featured in a spectacular presentation at the Seoul Motor Show.

The CC8S was developed from the CC prototype. Despite limited resources, the chassis, suspension, brakes, and several other components were custom-designed by Koenigsegg. Although the car's design was unique and received great amounts of attention, Koenigsegg decided to bring the CC prototype to the Cannes Film Festival in 1997 to further promote the car. The public's reaction to the car was favorable and international contacts were made. Koenigsegg's confidence was elevated by this and the decision was made to prepare the CC8S for production. Five years later the CC8S model entered production, but only 6 cars were produced before it was replaced by the more powerful CCR model. (Text: Adapted from Koenigsegg)

Koenigsegg CCR


The Koenigsegg CCR was an evolution of the CC8S, produced between 2004 and 2006. The CCR was produced in 14 examples in total. Compared to the CC8S, The CCR featured an upgraded body design, a larger front splitter, larger brakes, new enlarged tires and wheels, and upgraded suspension. It also had a more powerful engine with twin compressors, producing an astonishing 806 hp. All in all, the CCR had a more racing car-like stance and appearance compared to the more elegant CC8S.

The CCR managed to take the Guinness Record for the world’s fastest production car at the Nardo test track in 2005. The CCR reached 388 km/h, beating the 8 year old record set by the Mclaren F1. Koenigsegg CCX


The CCX Edition was to deliver superior performance - on the track, in a straight line and on favorite winding roads - and to do so in supreme style and comfort. The CCX Edition was only produced in two examples. It featured a number of specifications that were unique to the model, including its 4.8 liter engine, 11 spoke wheels, a unique rear wing, unique side wing lets, etc. This combination of unique equipment, along with the superb fit and finish of the Koenigsegg visible carbon body and chassis construction, truly makes the CCX Edition an automotive artwork without peer. (Text: Adapted from Koenigsegg)

Koenigsegg CCXR TREVITA



The CCXR Trevita is a limited edition of the Koenigsegg CCXR Edition featuring a diamond weave carbon fiber finish. Trevita is an abbreviation in Swedish and translates into - three whites. Up until the development of the CCXR Trevita, it has only been possible to utilize the classic black carbon fibers.The Koenigsegg Proprietary Diamond Weave, fully developed by Koenigsegg, is a new and unique method to manufacture the carbon fiber material for the CCXR Trevita. By utilizing this new and unique method, Koenigsegg has managed to coat fibers with a diamond finish. The process was fully developed at Koenigsegg headquarters in Ängelholm Sweden, where the fiber treatment is conducted carefully in small quantities, prior to further processing the material. The car is one of the world's most expensive street legal Super Cars.

Only three CCXR Trevitas were produced, making it one of the rarest vehicles manufactured by Koenigsegg. All three cars featured the Koenigsegg Shimmering Diamond Weave bodywork, double carbon rear wing, inconel exhaust system, carbon ceramic brakes with ABS, airbags, paddle-shift, chrono instrument cluster, infotainment system, tire monitoring system and a hydraulic lifting system. Koenigsegg AGERA



Although sharing the same values and philosophies as previous Koenigsegg models, the Agera takes the Koenigsegg experience to a completely new level. Similar to all previous Koenigsegg Super Cars, the new Agera is the brainchild of Christian von Koenigsegg. The Agera sets new benchmarks for Super Cars when it comes to control, handling, speed, comfort, practicality and sheer driving enjoyment, while combining these features with clean, efficient and beautiful design. The Agera name set the tone for the new project. Agera means “to take action” in Swedish. It is also short for the ancient Greek word Ageratos which means “ageless”. Koenigsegg AGERA R


The Agera R has all the features and functionality of previous year models, but also features new and unique solutions to enhance performance and visual appearance even further. Examples of these enhancements include: it runs on E85 bio-fuel, visible carbon on the front bonnet and bumper, new front side winglets, revolutionary Air-core carbon fiber wheels, new Aero exhaust, increased power and a raised RPM limit.

Among the many differences to the standard Agera, the Agera R has an upgraded fuel and engine management system with enough flow capacity to generate 1140 hp and 1200 Nm of torque on E85 and E100 bio-fuel. As there is less energy content per given volume in these bio-fuels compared to normal petrol, the fuel system has to manage a flow that is similar to a 2000 hp petrol engine, which means that the Agera R’s return-less fuel system has the highest capacity of any car presently in production. As the Agera R is a flex fuel car, it can also be run on normal petrol. As 95 octane fuel has less octane than ethanol E85, the power is reduced to 960 hp with 1100Nm of torque due to the boost pressure and ignition timing being altered to match the fuel characteristics.  (Text: Adapted from Koenigsegg)

Koenigsegg AGERA S

The Agera S was introduced to the market in 2012. The model features new Air-core hollow carbon fiber wheels, upgraded power and enhanced aerodynamics. The Agera S has an incredible top speed of over 400 km/h. It runs on regular Petrol and comes with a newly developed 1040 hp twin turbo engine. The Agera S is like all Koenigsegg cars the only true roadster Super Cars out there with a detachable and stowable hardtop, thereby offering the best of two worlds. This, in combination with 120 liters of luggage space, truly combines extreme performance with everyday usability. Koenigsegg ONE:1 (WORLD´S FIRST MEGACAR)




Koenigsegg is creating six uniquely developed and designed production cars – the One:1 program.This is one of the most exclusive production car programs ever envisaged. The hp to kg curb weight ratio is an astonishing 1:1. This is the “dream” equation previously thought impossible. On top of this, the One:1 is the first homologous production car in the world with one Megawatt of power, thereby making it the world´s first series produced Meg Car.

These are the reasons for naming the car One:1.

The 2014 One:1 truly raises the bar of performance. The One:1 features new and unique solutions to enhance track performance without compromising top speed or everyday usability, with a stunning visual appearance to go with it.

Examples of features; unique track optimized aero winglets, extended venturi tunnels and side splitters, Le-Mans inspired active wing configuration and optimized active under trim air management. Large air vents for improved cooling, roof air scoop to support the 1 Megawatt of power, 8250 RPM rev limit, complemented with Custom made Michelin Cup Tires, upgraded rear triplex suspension with carbon bevel springs and active shock absorbers and ride height, combined with upgraded revolutionary Koenigsegg Aircore carbon fiber wheels. Koenigsegg was the first extreme car manufacturer to take steps toward green technology with the release of the biofuel CCXR in 2007. The One:1, a sibling of the highly competitive Agera R, follows in the footsteps of the CCXR as it also runs on E85 bio-fuel, race fuel or normal gasoline.

In order to give the One:1 maximum flexibility when it comes to power delivery, Koenigsegg has implemented its patented variable turbo geometry technology in the One:1 program. This technology gives improved response and more low-end torque than otherwise possible. As an example the One:1 engine has over 1000 Nm of torque between 3000 to 7500 rpm, which is truly unheard of.
