Devon's initial production vehicle, the Devon GTX super car, was scheduled to begin production in early 2010, however, economic downturn shelved production. Devon Motorworks made news for being the single bidder for Chrysler's Dodge Viper platform, originally intended to provide the basis for the Devon GTX. The bid was, however, rejected by Chrysler for being below the US$10.0 million reserve and with the second-generation Viper upon which the GTX was derived being discontinued. The initial product, Devon GTX, was unveiled in 2009 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The vehicle was conceived by Swedish designer Daniel Paulin and Devon Motor Works Founder Scott Devon, who shared a vision for an American Super Car that combined classic and contemporary design cues. The distinguishing features of the Devon GTX included an aircraft-quality carbon fiber body, “up and forward” articulating doors, two-tone wheel surrounds, minimal front/rear overhangs, dual center exhaust ports and carbon fiber racing seats.
In validation testing, the vehicle set an unofficial lap record at California’s Willow Springs Raceway. Product development for the Devon GTX was led by former Ford executive engineer Andy Benedict, while assembly and manufacturing was headed by Clive Hawkins, founder of the Aria Group. Sadly, all the hard work Devon has put in to produce the GTX has come to an end. (Text: Adapted from Wikipedia) |
ARTEGA GT | LOTEC SIRIUS |
|
|
The Artega GT is a mid-engined, rear wheel drive 2-seat German Super Car produced by Artega between 2009 and 2012. The GT was Artega's first and only model. The two seater has an aluminum space frame and carbon fiber reinforced body for a light curb weight of 1,116 kg (2,460 lb). The engine is a Volkswagen sourced direct injection 3.6 L V6 producing 296 bhp (221 kW; 300 PS) and 350 N·m (260 lb·ft) mated to a 6-speed DSG transmission. Acceleration from 0–100 km/h is tested to be at 4.8 seconds, with top speed estimated to be over 270 km/h (168 mph). Henrik Fisker, who also designed the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, contributed to the design of the Artega GT.
The GT was built at a new factory in Delbrück, Germany with production starting in October 2008 and sales commencing in spring 2009. Production was claimed to be limited to roughly 500 units per year. After the Artega company filed for bankruptcy in July 2012, production has ceased and the company has been bought by German automotive supplier firm Paragon AG. Paragon AG will continue to supply owners with service, according to the Artega Website. On September 30, 2012 the production of the Artega GT was halted. There are currently no plans to resume production. Sad, because this was a cool Super Car which had a lot of potential growth and further development. (Text: Adapted from Wikipedia) | The Lotec Sirius is a supercar produced by German automotive company Lotec. It was introduced in 2001 as a Concept car. It went into production in 2004. It can go to a top speed of 248 mph and can go to 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds. Only 5 cars will be built per year with a price of £379,000. Manufactured from the lightest and most modern materials applied in the aerospace and automobile industries, carbon fiber composites combined with tubular steel. The bodywork is produced from the optimum combination of carbon, Kevlar and glass fiber materials.
Lotec superb design has stood the test of time and it looks modern even today despite the fact it was styled nearly 15 years ago. This is one of the most powerful road cars of all time churning out an incredible 1000bhp at 810lb of torque from a Mercedes sourced V12, it races from 0-200 kmh in a pulse pounding 7.8 seconds.

The Apollo is an exceptionally designed and performance focused Super Car. The Apollo is a perfect balance of design and function without compromise.
The secret of Apollo is an innovative design concept from race engineering. The Chassis of Apollo consists a round tube frame made of top-quality and highly stable chrome-molybdenum-steel with an integrated monocoque safety cell made of high quality carbon fiber screwed directly onto the frame thus ensuring maximum stability and safety. The suspension was developed to ideally complement the body's sophisticated aerodynamics. The Apollo is taut but not hard and provides driver and passenger with an extraordinary level of comfort and driving performance. The result is amazing driving dynamics.
The impressive power of the high-performance 8-cylinder engine is based on proven V8 high performance aggregates from AUDI. In the standard configuration this engine is optimized for use in racing and road vehicles and produces 650 HP as a Bi-Turbo engine. The Apollo is pure, unbeatable performance as reflected in the data. Like a comet, the Apollo catapults its pilot from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in just 3.0 seconds and only requires 8.9 seconds from 0 to 200 km/h (0-124 mph). (Text: Adapted from Gumpert) |
SPADA CODATRONCA | VENTURI FETISH |
|
|
The Spada Codatronca (sometimes called the SVS Codatronca) is an Italian-built Super Car introduced by Spada Vetture Sport in 2008. A convertible version, the Spada Codatronca Monza, was introduced in 2012. Both cars used a modified chassis and engine from the Chevrolet Corvette C6, but featured all-new bodywork.
Released in 2008, the Codatronca TS was the first car in the Spada Codatronca line, and featured styling based on that of the Alfa Romeo TZ. The car uses a 7-litre Chevrolet LS7 V8 engine, but with the power output increased to 630 hp (470 kW; 639 PS) at 6,500 rpm, and 668 N·m (493 lb·ft) of torque. The chassis was derived from that used by the Chevrolet Corvette C6, but featured all-new bodywork. The bodywork is made from carbon-fiber, whilst the aluminum chassis features a roll cage. The Codatronca TS is claimed to be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, and reach a top speed of 340 km/h (211 mph). It uses Brembo disc brakes all around; 380 mm (15.0 in) discs with eight-piston aluminum calipers at the front, and 355 mm (14.0 in) discs with four-piston aluminum calipers at the rear. 19" OZ alloy wheels are fitted, and shod with Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tyres; 285/35 R19 at the front, and 345/35 R19 at the rear. A more powerful TSS version was planned, but never produced. (Text: Adapted from Wikipedia) | The Venturi Fétish is the world's first two-seater electric Super Car. It is produced by Venturi in the principality of Monaco, and the futuristic design of the car was penned by the Parisian designers Sacha Lakic. Founded in 1984 by engineers Claude Poiraud and Gérard Godefro. However, Venturi declared bankruptcy in 2000, nearly sixteen years after its founding. In 2001 it was re-purchased. The manufacturer is committed to deliver 10 vehicles worldwide per year. The waiting time for the Fétish is 24 months and production started in 2005 with plans to end 2015, this is when the Fétish 2 is expected to hit the roads. Another notable model is the Venturi America.
The 220 kW electric motor develops a power of over 300 hp (+220 kW) and a torque of 380 Nm. Accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds and attains a top speed of 200 km/h. One other particular attraction of the car is that due to the electric traction motor, the full 380 Nm torque is available from 0 to 6,000 rpm, as opposed to the progressive delivery of an internal combustion engined car, where maximum torque is only available within certain RPM ranges. The company specifies the car has a real range of up to 340 km. The batteries are Lithium Ion Polymer developing 54 kWh with a life-span of over 1,800 cycles, offering an 80% recharge in 3 hours with the external charge booster or 8 hours with the on board charging system. Another notable model is the Venturi America. (Text: Adapted from Wikipedia & Venturi) |
